Sara Gomez Duarte is a Colombian-born artist who grew up in Houston, Texas. Since a young age, her mother, an Interior Designer, encouraged her to be artistic. Because of this, Sara has found herself accumulating countless hobbies including pottery, furniture flipping, sewing, and knitting. Sara holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in Advertising and Minored in Linguistics. After working in the Advertising industry as a Senior Art Director and seeing the effects the COVID-19 pandemic had on her community, she decided to change her career path to something more fulfilling and impactful.

Sara is currently attending Houston City College before applying to graduate school, where she hopes to obtain a Master's in Art Therapy. Throughout her coursework, she has learned a variety of different art mediums and techniques like metalsmithing, painting, and even printmaking. In addition to school, Sara also works at a ceramic studio part-time and volunteers in her free time.
