Character Creation – Intro to Comics

$0.00

Intro to Comics is a visual arts/drawing workshop for youth. Supplies used include sketchbooks, pencils and micron pens. The goal of this workshop is to build self-expression skills and confidence through creating a character and then seeing how that character can have control over its narrative and linking this idea to the participant having control over their narrative in their own lives. Drawing skills are enhanced and confidence gained by repetition and reinforcement.

This workshop can be a single session for basic character development and learning about the comic book genre and industry. Multiple sessions give the opportunity to creative a narrative and the building of full stories as well as development of drawing skills.

Adding sessions will give us time to develop the story in which this character goes through. Working as a group and talking through ideas will help strengthen empathy, confidence, and accountability.
